Lots of Work
The last week or so has seen a lot of work. It started with solid cherry strips for the face frame.
Face frame parts laid out
I worked out the details of how to enable the sliding doors, which took a while. Happily, I slept on it for a couple of nights and a way to greatly simplify the build presented itself.
Over several evenings and a couple of long stints this weekend, I milled slots for doors, fastened frame parts to the carcass, cut and fit door panels, etc. There was a lot of time spent getting things to fit together properly with enough room for the doors to slide smoothly. The cabinet is now coming together, and I think I’m going to be happy with the design and the results.
Cabinet with frame and no doors
Cabinet with door panels (still long) but no pulls
There is a fair bit left to do, but things are coming along nicely.
